Colon

The end of the digestive tract is the Colon (Large Intestine). Its primary function is to absorb water & store fecal matter.

What Harmful Deposits in your Colon has to do with Heart Disease
Skatole, Indole, Phenol (Carbolic Acid), Creosol, among others - are chemicals that are tissue damaging irritants to the walls of your arteries. They are produced by bacteria in your colon and absorbed into your blood stream. Lets look at just one of these chemicals, Phenol (Carbolic Acid). Exposure of the skin to carbolic acid causes chemical burns. It is used to remove (burn off) layers of dead skin in cosmetic surgery. Just imagine what it does in your circulatory system to the walls of your arteries, when it is absorbed through your colon. This is a local corrosive & systemic poison. Hydrogen Sulfide is another. It attacks the intestinal lining, making it easier for intestinal toxins to penetrate the intestinal wall and be taken up by the blood. Many other chemicals too numerous to mention, have been found to be formed in the Colon by bacteria. Shigella bacteria, for instance, produce a toxin which is extremely similar to ricin (used by terrorists).

Why Your Colon Does This

There are two reasons your colon has a mucus membrane: 1) Lubricate when necessary & 2) Protect the tissue of the colon from the occasional harmful substances. Your body evolved to handle a particular diet, which is not the processed-refined-chemically treated diet of today. This stimulates the colon to coat itself with mucus, as a protective mechanism to prevent the absorption of toxins. This happens so often & for so long, a bowel movement doesn't get rid of this coating.

Your colon walls build up a unmoving layer of fecal matter that it can't eliminate. This layer becomes the home & food source for bacteria, that produce harmful chemicals that are in direct contact with the wall of the Colon. No wonder Colon Cancer is the number one cancer among both men & women.
